Virtual jumma Khutba

Khutba Points

Comments

I being a mom of three girls and a granddaughter is saddened by the news of the recent senseless murder/ suicide. Why the masajids not doing Khutbas on “daruba ” and “qawamun” the role of Hadith degrading women as “fitna “or temptress why are we shoving these issues under the rug. Masajids are I’ll equipped, Imams are not trained uneducated who only advise “sabar” a”sacrifice “and endurance. Women are marginalized in the masajids only the one who follow the men blindly or dressed in a certain way are allowed and made masajids exclusive clubs not welcoming for everyone. Domestic violence is so underreported and women are held responsible for all children’s and marital problems. This culture needs to change not bandaids when something bad happens.

My dear sister Ayesha

You know unlike other religions, who teach that their followers will go to heaven without judgement of their deeds in this world, Islam teaches us to watch out. Allah will judge us based on our actions. Islam also teaches us that with sincere repentance and changing our ways to not repeat the wrongdoing again, Allah will forgive us.

Quran is here and it is every Muslim's responsibility to learn and fear Allah in their actions. Being said, there are Muslims who know what is the right thing to do but still do what they feel like.

Prophet SAW said "the best thing" you can get in this worldly life, not money, not status, not children, but a good wife.

There is no clergy in Islam. All of us have the responsibility to learn and improve. We also know that the poorest of Muslims, who were the kindest in action, got recognition in Quran.

Yes, Imams should work on teaching character building. But so many "born" Muslims who either do not go to Masjid or go just to prove to their family and friends that they go to Masjid every Friday.

I love my revert brothers and sisters, because they learned and accepted. They are the chosen ones. May Allah protect them and keep them steadfast.

Believe me it is under reported in every society. I think what we need, is every big Masjid should have "Domestic violence protection office" where people like you and me should be trained and then be able to volunteer and get proper resources for high risk women. Lets work on it. I will talk to my Imam Insha Allah.

Is it possible to record the khutba so that those who miss it can listen to it? Today I felt sad because I missed the khutba about Ramadan today

Assalamoialaikoum!

Due to time difference as I am from a far away country, I cannot attend the virtual Khutba. Is it possible to record it and make it available offline? This could probably reach a larger audience. Thank you to consider.

I agree with comment about. Other countries miss this Khutba due to time difference. Would be good to release on the eve of Jummuah so that it reaches many. JAK
