Abortion is one hot button issue which is a large part of the family values debate. But there is a need for a unique Muslim position on abortion without compromising Islam's stand on the issue.
Society's problems are not the problems of "those people out there". They are our problems, and if we ignore them they will come creeping up to us at one point. As Muslim parents we need to do something about these challenges.

With talents and resources on both sides, can Muslims and non-Muslims work together on common causes for the greater good?
As Muslims, we will join this march because we are also concerned citizens and know that the state of the nation affects us as much as other Americans. Islam stands for justice and commands us to speak out against injustice and that is what this march is all about.
Alhamdu lillah, Allah has granted mankind two Eids where we are encouraged to celebrate joyously with friends and family. We are reminded not to go to extremes with waste, yet we are encouraged to worship, eat, remember the poor, sing and thank our Creator with joy for His blessings upon us.
Walk into a women's shelter that is not targeted to a specific ethnic or cultural group, and you will find women of all races, colors, and of course religions. The abuse and killing of women for alleged honor crimes is not Islamic. Nor honor killings in America and abuse of women inherently as "American as apple pie".
