Eid ul-Adha or the “Feast of Sacrifice” is one the most significant Islamic holidays. It usually lasts 3-4 days. Majority of Muslim families will most likely attend special prayers at their local masjids. Muslims usually don new outfits and give gifts to families and friends.
Less than a year ago, it was the Tsunami. Last month it was Katrina & Rits. And now we have this earthquake in Kashmir. More than forty thousand people have perished and at least three million are homeless.
I can not think of any other verse in the Quran that empowers me as much as this one does. This is a verse I often reflect on in times of stress, sadness and need. Think about it. Just repeat the words.
