On the surface, the party has all the trappings of a traditional prom: Fancy dresses, fancy food, and fancy footwork on the dance floor. But two key components are missing: boys and alcohol. 

Organization and unity are key to the success of any community. Muslim student organizations can provide these elements from the ground up. 

The prom is held annually to celebrate the completion of high school. It usually takes place in May. In some schools, there is a junior (after grade 11) and a senior prom (after grade 12). In others, it is only held at the end of twelfth grad.
