Hijab in Islam: Quranic verses about Hijab

Hijab in Islam: Quranic verses about Hijab

Reference of Hijab can be found in multiple places in Quran. Many poeple ask about Quran Hijab Quotes.

Following are important verses of Quran about Hijab in Islam:

"O you Children of Adam! We have bestowed on you raiment to cover your shame as well as to be an adornment to you. But the raiment of righteousness, that is the best. Such are among the Signs of Allah, that they may receive admonition.” (Quran 7:26)

“And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear therof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, or their brothers' sons or their sisters' sons, or their women or the servants whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex, and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O you Believers, turn you all together towards Allah, that you may attain Bliss.” (Quran 24:31).

“O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.” (Quran 33:59).

Peace and salams to all,Khandy in answer to your question on why muslim women cover their entire body and face..........Its a bit complicated but I shall try, In islam we believe that the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last and final messenger of Allah (God) as stated in the Qu'ran. and in the Qu'ran Allah states that to attain Jannah (heaven) we must use him as our example of how to live our lives. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is an example to all mankind and the best of all Humankind. On how to live our lives peacefully and properly. We have the Sunnah the prophetic ways on how the prophet Muhammad lived in Hadith (eyewitness accounts) in these hadith are his prophetic utterances and actions. when people came to the prophet (pbuh) and asked questions of him they were written down and so were his answers. There is one hadith where a woman came to the prophet (pbuh) and said she was being harrassed by people she had known in the past (she was formally a prostitute) and asked how she could avoid such encounters so he told her to cover entirely from head to toe so as not to be recognised so she could go about her daily business safely and in security.there are many other hadith where hijab is concerened but you really need to be a scholor to understand the total meaning of them, I am not a scholor far from it, may Allah forgive me if I have said anything out of turn, anything good has come from him.I am a niqaabi (a woman who covers totally) and I am also a revert to Islam of nine years. I find peace when I wear Niqaab I dont dress for anyones approval only Allah swt. Wearing Niqaab is a personal choice, it comes from love for Allah swt and only wanting to please him. I am not extreme I am a Muslim who lives life to please Allah and ONLY Allah. So In answer to your question on why women cover totally........In the Qu'ran it tells us we need to pray, But its the Prophet (pbuh) and his Sunnah that tells us how and when. The same as Hijab, A Muslim woman must be modest "draw their cloaks up"it says in the Qu'ran, but its the prophet (pbuh) that elaborated stating the least being our eyes and the most being our hands, faces and feet. Then it is the Muslim womans choice which she wants to cover. It all about protection and modesty, but the understanding comes from faith and wisdom.I hope this helps a bit

The effort is praiseworthy indeed. My request is to elloborately explain the implementation of those verses in our daily life. Why hijab is important? How to adapt our sisters and daughters in the west with our unique identification? How to impress our non-Muslim brothers and sisters with the true light of our rligion? Thank you
