The service component of the MLK Jr. Day federal holiday is often overlooked. For far too many Americans, it is simply a day off work or out of school. But the significance of the “service” that Americans are encouraged to do on that day should be understood and valued.

Emotional abuse is dangerous.  When there is physical violence both the perpetrator and the victim are fully aware of the hitting, slapping, pushing, restraining and other life-threatening acts.

Breast cancer is a serious disease.  According to the World Health Organization (WHO) “in 2020 there were 2.3 million women diagnosed with breast cancer and 685, 000 deaths globally.

“Oh You who believe . . . help one another in piety and goodness and do not help one another in sin and aggression, and be careful of your duty to Allah, surely Allah is severe in requiting.”
