
Bio of Instructors
Habeeb Quadri
Educator, Author, and Youth Activist. He has a Bachelors in Teaching of History and a Masters in School Administration. He currently is taking a few courses a year at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education – Principal Center, where he works as part-time staff in their professional development programs. Habeeb, recently has been appointed to a four-year term at the Harvard Graduate School of Education Principal Advisory Board. In addition to his teaching and administrative experience in public and private schools, Habeeb has delivered hundreds of lectures throughout the United States, Canada and abroad on Islam, society, and social problems confronting Muslim youth and the community at large for the last 15 years. He has currently co-authored a few books entitled the “War within Our Hearts” (The Struggles of the Muslim Youth), “Thank God it is Jumuah”, “Parenting, Who Said it Was Easy”, “Wisdom of the Wise: Advice of Luqman (A), The Islamic School Resource Guide: Developing Schools and Educational Excellence and was the religious and cultural consultant for the children book “Under the Ramadan Moon by Sylvia Whitman. Habeeb also has several other books projects in the works “Boys to Men”, Discovering Science: One Verse out a Time”.
Dr. Aisha El-Amin
Holds a PhD in Policy Studies of Urban Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. El-Amin is passionate about issues of equity and justice in education. These passions have led her to become a Illinois State Board of Education certified teacher, an adjunct professor, an elected school board member for School District #168 and board member for Routledge Journal, Religion and Education. As a professor Dr. El-Amin instructs courses in teacher certification programs that assist educators in creating lesson plans and classroom spaces that are intentionally justice oriented and liberating. Dr. El-Amin also led in creating a Resource Guide entitled “Muslim Cultural Sensitivity in Public Schools”, which was approved by the Chicago Public Schools Chief Education Officer and distributed to over 21,000 teachers district wide.
Imam Azfar Uddin
Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Benedictine University. His degree is in Education with a minor in History. Azfar graduated from Benedictine with distinction, maintaining high honors throughout his academic career. Azfar has been awarded many awards for his leadership qualities, excellence in teaching, and his service to the community. In addition to delivering enlightening lectures at various mosques, high schools and universities, Azfar is the CEO of Concise Advice, a YouTube channel geared towards teaching different aspects of Islam consisting of Muslim scholars, students of knowledge, doctors, lawyers and Muslim professionals.
Salma Ahmed
Is a dedicated and enthusiastic educator with over 25 years of experience. Her current work as Vice Principal of Curriculum and an Instructional coach to teachers enables her to observe lessons exposing her to a variety of teaching strategies across different grade levels. The feedback sessions allow teachers to reflect as Salma dissects each lesson with the teacher, revising and developing strategies catering to all aspects of the educating process. Over the years, Salma’s position as a practicing certified principal and teacher has equipped her to see teaching and learning from all angles. Her experience and passion for education led her to establish the Academic Support Program allowing full time hifz students to keep in touch with secular education on a weekly basis. Salma lives in the northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.
