Eid Preparation; Dhul-Hijjah: 10 Days & Ways of Spiritual Invigoration

In this newsletter

Assalamu alaikum:

This Sunday is expected to be the first day of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah. Its first 10 days are a blessed time, and we are encouraged to push ourselves to do good as much as we can.

Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these 10 days.”

It is important to note that these days are considered sacred for both those individuals going to Hajj and those who are not. Given that the COVID-19 pandemic has once again restricted Hajj for anyone outside of Saudi Arabia for a second year in a row, this takes on even more importance.

This week, we encourage you, your family, and your community to reignite that Ramadan stamina when we all made extra efforts to do more, give more, and be better to improve ourselves spiritually. This is a unique opportunity and a blessed time.

Also, please don’t forget to start planning for Eid-ul-Adha, which will fall on Monday, July 19, or Tuesday, July 20. Making Eid special, especially after the last very difficult year, requires planning and preparation. We share some ideas on how to do that.

Peace,
