We are deeply saddened by the state of our nation. Yesterday, the most powerful man of the most powerful nation in the world, our President Donald Trump, used profanity while mocking our faith and writing, in the same vulgar post, "praise be to Allah."
Action Items:
- Call your congressperson and ask them to call out this bigoted and Islamophobic behavior. Find your representative in Congress using your zip code at House.gov or call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 to be connected.
- Call your Senators: Find out who your Senator is here.
- Call the White House: The White House comment line is +1 (202) 456-1111. It is reportedly open only Tuesday–Thursday 11am–3pm ET.
- Call your local media: Ask them to write an editorial about rising Islamophobia, and how President Trump’s latest comment fuels hatred and bigotry in our nation.
- What are you doing to strengthen the anti-war movement in the United States? This is an ideal time to join and raise your voice against this illegal war that the U.S. and Israel have launched on Iran.
Talking Points:
- This type of language gives rise to Islamophobia.
- It creates an environment ripe for violent attacks on Muslims in America, which have already been taking place. In 2025, the Council on American-Islamic Relations or CAIR received 8,683 complaints nationwide, the highest number of single-year complaints it has recorded since its first civil rights report covering 1996 was published.
- President Trump must apologize to Muslims for using this language
- Insulting Allah is insulting God, since even Arab Christians use the word “Allah” for God. They are the ancient followers of Prophet Jesus, God’s peace be upon him.
- The US and Israel’s war on Iran is not in the interest of anyone. The sooner it ends, the better for humanity.
- Sound Vision has issued two talking points regarding war on Iran. Please read the first one here and the second one here.
Thinking Points:
- Muslims must respond to discourage the use of abusive language.
- Mocking or weaponizing contributes to a documented pattern of Islamophobic rhetoric being made by elected officials, including Congressman Randy Fine, Rep. Andy Ogles, Rep. Brandon Gill, and Senator Tommy Tuberville.
With war, Islamophobia is bound to rise. We need to individually and organizationally double-check our preparedness.
