Overview:
Sound Vision Foundation is a mission-driven non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Muslims in America and around the world. We are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of Muslims and promoting social change. We are seeking a number of passionate individuals to join our team for a summer internship. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about education, advocacy, youth empowerment, and human rights. The 2024 Summer Internships will be open from June through August, 2024. During that period, it is ideal for each intern to expect to work a minimum of 10 hours per week for at least a six-week duration. Specific scheduling will be negotiated with each intern with consideration for the mutual benefit of both the intern and the organization.
There are four separate focus areas to consider:
- Writing and Research Intern
- Social Media Intern
- Education Intern
- Next Gen Training Intern
Each has a particular focus, requires specific skill sets, and will accomplish specific learning outcomes.
Writing & Research Internship (Remote)
Focus
The ideal candidate for this internship project is enthusiastic about writing, research, education, and is committed to promoting our organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities
During your internship, your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct thorough research on specific topics relevant to ongoing projects
- Compile, analyze, and synthesize research data into clear, concise reports
- Produce well-written content that may include blog posts, articles, papers, and communications
- Edit and proofread documents to ensure accuracy and consistency in style and tone
- Collaborate with other team members to refine content and align with our goals
Skills and Competencies
For this internship, you will need to:

Social Media Intern (Virtual)
Focus
The ideal candidate for this internship project is enthusiastic about supporting the development of content strategies that enhance the organization’s visibility and engagement with its audience and grow the organization’s social media presence.
Key Responsibilities
During your internship, your responsibilities will include:
- Content creation and short-form video content tailored to platform-specific audiences
- Design graphics and edit photos using tools like Canva
- Manage social media messaging, including creation of a content calendar
- Monitor user engagement and respond to comments and messages appropriately
- Analyze and report data on audience engagement and growth across platforms, including monthly reports on successes, lessons learned, and recommendations for future strategies
- Identify and engage with key influencers and potential partners relevant to the brand
Skills and Competencies
For this internship, you will need to:
- Understanding of social media platforms and best practices, formats, and audiences
- Creative and strong communication skills with writing skills tailored to a digital audience
- Graphic design skills and familiarity with design software such as Canva
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Learning Outcomes:

Education Intern (Remote)
Focus
The ideal candidate for this internship has worked with Musilm children in an educational environment or is hoping to head into a career related to education. The intern will be working directly with Sound Vision’s online summer camp programming. Certified teachers or educators are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
During your internship, your responsibilities will include:
- Educational program development, implementation, and evaluation
- Assisting in the development and implementation of educational materials, lesson plans, and instructional guides
- Collecting and analyzing data on student performance and learning outcomes
- Conducting research on current educational trends, technologies, and Islamic methodologies to inform organizational programs and strategies
- Organizing and coordinating educational events and workshops
Skills and Competencies
For this internship, you will need to:
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program related to education
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship, you will be able to:

- Develop a deeper understanding of educational assessment and evaluation techniques

Next Gen Training Internship

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about education, advocacy, youth empowerment and leadership development, and human rights. Key Responsibilities
During your internship, your responsibilities will include:
- Assist with the planning and organization of youth training and empowerment
- Develop marketing materials and strategies to increase attendance including local outreach efforts
- Assist with the development of training materials, digital content, and instructional guides
- Coordinate logistics, scheduling, venue preparation, and participant communication
- Assist with evaluation of training effectiveness through participant feedback and assessments, and provide suggestions for future improvement
- Create content for social media to highlight training
