Hijab in Islam: Quranic verses about Hijab

Following are important verses of Quran about Hijab in Islam:

"O you Children of Adam! We have bestowed on you raiment to cover your shame as well as to be an adornment to you. But the raiment of righteousness, that is the best. Such are among the Signs of Allah, that they may receive admonition.” (Quran 7:26)

“And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear therof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, or their brothers' sons or their sisters' sons, or their women or the servants whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex, and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O you Believers, turn you all together towards Allah, that you may attain Bliss.” (Quran 24:31).

“O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.” (Quran 33:59).

The area you live in plays an important role about your safety, Obviously in Lahore the concept of men lowering their gaze is quite rare, if you are worried about getting harrased perhaps stay inside or ask the opposite sex to go out with you as a source if protection

ahh... ur last line hung my head in shame. we sure are a stupid society. you are brave enough to get over it. bless u stranger and I offer an apology on behalf of my nation. you did not deserve to go through it. the more I hear such things the more I lose my trust on humanity.

I am a married women, I am also a mother to 3 beautiful boys. I have just recently told my husband my feelings about Islam and how I would like to convert. When I read the Quran, I have this overwhelming emotion. Ever since I said this out loud and have started to read the Quran. I see everything in a different light, it is actually beautiful. I told him how I want to wear the hijab, how my want and need in submitting to Allah but also to him. Thank you for all this information.

hijab=this is sign control sex everyone respect Hindu religion

Would you also like your children to marry some 30 year old pig at age 9? Cus that's what Muslims do.

Muslims do not do this... I am speaking on behalf of all my brothers and sisters. Please don't start spreading these nasty lies about Muslims because we do not do that... If a woman is to get married, she has the choice to reject the man who may ask for her. She has a huge say in the marriage. If she does not want to marry the man, then she will not. What you speak of may be in culture but it has nothing- when I say nothing, I mean NOTHING- to do with Islam. So please take this as understanding and I ask you once more not to walk around spreading lies as such.

.. Thank You ..
