In our modern capitalistic society, the expectations placed on parents to be both providers and loving caretakers are immense.

When I first started homeschooling my children, I used a writing curriculum called Brave Writer.

My two oldest children are now in their twenties – old enough (in their minds, at least) to provide valuable feedback on my parenting successes and missteps over the years.

In our neighborhood a patch of wild thicket backs up to the rear yards of townhouse communities in the area. The patch extends out and runs along the main road all the way to a nearby park.

As the school year draws to an end, many children (and parents!) are looking forward to the lazy days of summer.

Families across the globe are heading into summer and the heat is on - that is the heat for parents to find ways to ensure their children are busy and productive! 

As the final days of the school year approach, a sense of anticipation fills the air for children and parents alike.
