Muslim Network TV, a project of Sound Vision, is looking for a part-time Content Writer for its newsletters to join its growing team. We are looking for a writer, who is organized, communicative, and enthusiastic about joining a talented group of industry professionals working to create some of the best TV content. We are currently working virtually because of the Covid-19 pandemic. If you are passionate about writing and media, and want to make a meaningful contribution to the Muslim narrative, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Develop content and manage execution of the newsletter program
- Manage the editorial calendar and ensure timely publication
- Lead and participate in all stages of curation, writing, editing and formatting email newsletters
- Work with other teams to gather content to market TV programs and other events
- Work collaboratively to integrate promotion of the newsletter with digital strategies
- Develop content based on SEO best-practices
- Generate new ideas around industry-related topics
Qualifications:
- Previous content development or marketing experience
- Outstanding writing and editing skills
- Ability to adopt the style and voice of our organization
- Fluency in English with skill to deliver writing in simple and engaging tones
- Consistency in language and brand
- Excellent organizational skills to work independently
- Detail-oriented and committed to deadlines
- Canadian citizenship or eligibility to work in Canada
Preferred Assets:
- Previous experience writing / editing content for not-for-profit organizations
- Writing content for social media platforms
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Google Suite, and newsletter publishing software

We are looking for a writer, who is organized, communicative, and enthusiastic about joining a talented group of professionals working to create some of the best TV content. We are currently working virtually because of the Covid-19 pandemic. If you are passionate about writing and media, and want to make a meaningful contribution to the Muslim narrative, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Develop news stories as per information generated by wire service, assignment desk, newspapers and press releases in field and archives
- Perform research and write unbiased and factual news stories, rewrite wire copy and develop crisp news stories
- Provide assistance to the producer and develop news scripts and organize videos to present news
- Monitor all wires feeds to gather the latest breaking news for writing news for publication or airing
- Design and edit news for reading by anchors and communicate appropriate stories to the audience
- Perform copy editing of scripts for accuracy, factual content and correct language
Qualifications:
- Previous experience writing for news or media
- Outstanding writing and editing skills
- Meticulous fact checking
- Ability to adopt the style and voice of the channel
- Fluency in English with skill to deliver writing in simple and engaging tones for news audience
- Excellent organizational skills
- Commitment to deadlines and ability to work in high pressure environment
- American or Canadian Citizenship or eligibility to work in the US or Canada

We are looking for a news presenter, who is comfortable on camera, communicative, and enthusiastic about joining a talented group of professionals working to broadcast some of the best TV content. We are currently working virtually because of the Covid-19 pandemic. If you are passionate about media, and want to make a meaningful contribution to the Muslim narrative, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Present the news to viewers in a professional, calm, and friendly manner
- Ensure their appearance properly represents the face of the network
- Participate in helping to formulate news stories by pitching ideas and providing feedback on content
- Quality check each story to ensure grammatical correctness, accuracy, and clarity
- Attend meetings in preparation for each day's newscast and help producers form the structure of each program
- Revise scripts and prepare to deliver them on-air
- Interview guests, reporters or correspondents involved in particular stories
Qualifications:
- Previous experience with speaking on camera or media
- Outstanding public speaking skills
