This seven-step guide by the Council on Islamic Education in California offers Muslim students a practical and effective way to challenge misinformation about Islam that may show up in textbooks or during class presentations and discussions. 

The climate for Muslims today is very much as it was for Americans of Japanese descent during World War II. Japanese-Americans in the Western states were rounded up and moved to internment camps so they wouldn't aid and abet the enemy. Similarly, Muslims are treated like the enemy and are living in virtual internment camps.

Today, Muslim Americans know all too well how the 9/11  tragedy has changed the world. Here are some examples of the impact the terrorist attacks had on the Muslim American community.

African-Americans have been trying to fight racism, bigotry and hate all of their lives. What has been the strategy? What have been the tools? The philosophy and way of life of the opponents has become the philosophy and way of life of the slave.

With this sample letter, Muslim parents can communicate effectively with their children's public school teachers when it comes to seeking general or particular religious accommodations, including but not limited to finding a space to offer prayers. 

Are you a patriotic American?  As a Muslim in America, an American-Muslim or Muslim-American (however you define yourself), your patriotism has probably been suspect for quite a while, particularly since the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
