The album, titled For the Pleasure Of Allah, contains unique and original tracks which will appeal to listeners across the board, from young children to teenagers and adults alike. The purpose of the album is to educate, enlighten and inspire people of all ages in a fun and stimulating way.
The title track is called For the Pleasure of Allah; the theme of this song being that our intention for every action should be first and foremost for the pleasure of Allah. It has positive and encouraging words like, “ I love to read and learn for the pleasure of Allah, I love to read and learn because it is a Sunnah ”.
The song Be Like Muhammad (SAW) contains words which will resonate with all Muslims aspiring to be like the Prophet (SAW): “ I want to walk like you, talk like you, read my Quran just like you; I want to smile like you, breathe like you, read my Salaah just like you; I want to be like you in everything I do, you are the closest to Allah ”.
About the Artist:
Writing, singing, poetry and rhyme have played an integral part of Hussein’s life since his early years. On a sunny Sunday afternoon in the year 2001, Hussein bumped into Zain Bhikha in Fordsburg, Johannesburg, and expressed to Zain his interest in singing. Zain was very supportive from the outset and their friendship has developed ever since.
In February 2009, Hussein started working on the recording of this album with Yusuf (Jeremy) Karodia. Jeremy has been a patient mentor and producer, opening Hussein’s eyes to the true beauty of song and to the possibilities inherent within music to share a positive message with all of humanity. The message is more important than any of the song’s peripheral elements, such as the images or instruments, and the right message can appeal to a broad spectrum of people from all walks of life.
Alhamdulillah it has been an exciting, winding and interesting road up to this point. This album is testament to the fact that Allah is the best of planners: that He in His infinite Mercy plans and allows things to happen at the correct time and in the correct way.
Hussein is married and has been blessed with four wonderful children.
