The challenge is to regain this unity in light of the complexity of issues causing problems in the Muslim World.
If we can recapture the Islamic dream of unity that motivated Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him), then we can recapture our Islamic heritage. While we need to deal with the unavoidable conflict between our desire for unityand our commitment to treth, Muslims need to reflect onthose things that drive home the unity. As Alla has already given us the passion for unity, we must move forward to fulfill HIs Command.
WE can no longer preach unity and practice division. Our Pledge to unity must begin within ourselves, within our families, within our communities, and with eachother. As we engage in dialogue, let us seek to understand before we seek to be understood.
