He was a member of the Panel of Economists and Bankers set up to make recommendations for implementation of Zakat and elimination of interest in Pakistan. He was also a member of the Council of Islamic Ideology. Dr. Zaman has written a number of research pepers on different aspects of Islamic Economics.
