| 079.001. By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; |
079.001. By those who drag forth to destruction, |
| 079.002. By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); |
079.002. By the meteors rushing, |
| 079.003. And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), |
079.003. By the lone stars floating, |
| 079.004. Then press forward as in a race, |
079.004. By the angels hastening, |
| 079.005. Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), |
079.005. And those who govern the event, |
| 079.006. One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, |
079.006. On the day when the first trump resoundeth. |
| 079.007. Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): |
079.007. And the second followeth it, |
| 079.008. Hearts that Day will be in agitation; |
079.008. On that day hearts beat painfully |
| 079.009. Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. |
079.009. While eyes are downcast |
| 079.010. They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? |
079.010. (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state |
