Islamic School
The Weekend Islamic School is the place where the largest number of Muslim children in America learn about Islam. We estimate there are about half a million students in these schools as compared to about 15,000 in full-time Muslim schools. Ironically, however, the least amount of resources are dedicated to Weekend Schools. They have mostly untrained teachers who volunteer their time and frequently are not qualified to teach Islam themselves.

What can we do to improve this situation? How can these precious 2-3 hours a week be used in the most productive manner to educate our future Muslims in America? What is your child's experience in Weekend school? Are you a teacher at the Weekend Islamic School? What curriculum do you use? Would you like to share a lesson plan which you might have developed?
