10 brief points Christians
should know about Muslims and Jesus
By Sound Vision Staff Writer
- Muslims love Jesus. We also love Abraham, Moses, and Noah, to name
just a few other Prophets Muslims revere. May God's peace be upon all
of these great messengers of God.
- Muslims also love the mother of Jesus, the Virgin Mary. We believe
she was a pious and noble woman chosen over all of the women of the
world.
- Muslims believe that Jesus was born miraculously of a virgin mother
and no father. His birth is miraculous like the birth of Adam, the first
human being, who was created with neither mother nor father.
- Muslims do not believe that Jesus was the son of God. God is so powerful
and self-sufficient that He does not need a son or any kind of partner.
- In Arabic Bible the name for God is Allah. Therefore all Arab Christian
call God Allah as Muslim do as well.
- Jesus did not die on the cross. Rather, God saved him as his
enemies were confused about him. Jesus was taken up by God to Heaven.
- Jesus is called Isa (pronounced Eesa) in Arabic.
- Jesus performed miracles by the Will of God, like healing the blind
and those with leprosy.
- Jesus prayed to the same God as all Prophets and we pray to.
- Jesus will return before the end of the world.

Comment: Christianity is a different creature considering that the "small factor" of the trinity is in fact massive. Beside the fact that it has been written that Christ is in fact the Savior as well as the final prophet, the belief in the trinity is the major separator. Christ was the Son of God, and through this, he died on the cross, as it is written and recorded. Paul of Tarsus did not add the idea in later, it was UNDERSTOOD before that Christ was one with the father, that he is incarnate God. You cannot make apples into oranges. Christ reigns alone. Muhammad is not only later, out of Christian perspective as Christ is the final prophet in our faith, and only false Christians would believe otherwise. If there is a bridge between the two faiths, then it is a form of conversion, not a union. Christians are falling to a smaller group. There are those who do not belief that Christ is God, and they are false, and are no longer Christian. The term CHRISTian implies otherwise.
I have many friends who are Muslim, but I never pretend that we have the same faith, or even a similar faith. We pray to the same God, which is the closest base we have. Christianity is a small faith in this era, and we are different than what is accepted to be a Christian. Tolerance is not blending. We are spiritual brothers, but we will and must always have our differences.
From Rome Italy, the capital of Western Christianity, I send my love and prayers to you all, Muslim and Christian,

The difference is that in Christianity Jesus is the main prophet, and in Islam Mohamed is the main prophet. In Islam we always hear mostly about Prophet Mohamed, and Jesus is not talked about very much. Also in Chrisianity they do not acknowledge Prophet Mohamed at all.

Comment: A very clear explanation of the Muslim view. Many nominal Protestant Christians do not believe Jesus is the Son of God, as I, along with many Roman Catholics & fundamental Protestants do. The nominal Protestant Christians, a very large number, are a factor in the spread of the Muslim faith. i.e. if you don't accept Jesus as the Son of God, you are already almost there. I figure Europe will be Muslim in 20 or so years, at the rate they are goiong, and the United States is not far behind. The future of the Catholic Christian faith rests with the Hispanics. One reason for the hostility in America to the Hispanics is because the are predominately Roman Catholic, and this country has a long history of Anti-Catholic sentiment.
I appreciated your explanation of the differents.
Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!

Comment: The article truthfully projects what the Muslims believe which generally coforms to the Chritian belief. The basic difference is between the Muslim belief of Jesus being an important Prophet of God against Christian belief of being the son of God. God is omnipotent. He is above the family needs. People should not be oblivious of this fact. A religious harmony will please the God most.

Comment: Very true, Jesus is the mighty messenger of Allah like the other prophets, Not the son of God or Lord. " There is No God but Allaah and Prophet Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah "

Comment: I like this article. because it is very informative. In my opinion both Muslim and Cristian beleive in same God (Allah). We have to make good research to find out right way. Otherwise, we can't answer the question of God (Allah) "I give you mind to think and envisage, why you did not do that". we have to read a lot of things. and not based on things someone told us

Comment: It's a little confusing to me that the Muslim faith regards Jesus so higly and believe 80% of what was written about him, ie: the virgin birth, the miracles, his return ect., except for the main claim..that he is God in the flesh, the way the truth and the life. Jesus is either a lunatic, a liar or who he says he is and not merely a profit. Someone please explain...help me out here.

Comment: Good communication article for Christians and Muslims. Truth is the one we pursue, not religion, which was created by human beings. People need a good judgement for the teachings from Christian churches or muslim temples, as there are some teachings are interpretations not really a truth.

Comment: This covers the basic tenets of what the Quran teaches us about Jesus. In response to sijo's comments:
"Those Messengers We endowed with gifts, some above others. To one of them Allah spoke, others He raised to degrees of honor; to Jesus, the son of Mary, We gave clear signs and strengthened him with the holy spirit. If Allah had so willed, succeeding generations would not have fought among each other, after clear signs had come to them. But, they chose to wrangle, some believing and some rejecting. If Allah had so willed, they would not have fought each other, but Allah fulfills his Plan". Allah gave us free will, and with free will, we will always disagree, but that won't spoil God's plan. And every prophet is special in a unique way - Moses spoke directly with God, the prophet David was made king, and Jesus was born of divine birth. God needs nothing; we need God and his messengers, and each message is unique and special.
