Comment:Salam Alykom: One thing that we did was to remove the tv from the main part of the house. We, my husband and I, have a television in our bedroom and we have put a very small tv with a VCR in another, seldom used room. The result being is the children don't want to be left out and hardly ever go in there to watch it. When they do it is usually to watch videos with their friends. The article was great in that it refreshed my memory about some common sense things that we all sometimes get lazy with. Jazak Allah!

Comment:your tips are excellent. While I can teach my children that programs on regular american channels and cable should not be watched as it goes against our islamic values..what of so many channels from the so called muslim countries which are promoting the same thing. My kids turn to me accusingly saying ..mom you told us muslims don't do such things and i am at a loss for words.Any suggestions.

Comment:I like your article very much and your move for TV turn off week. This has given me strength too as a mother to control my children from watching TV; so they can find time to contribute something positive as their duty to humanity and become not only good Muslims but also good individuals.

Something to Ask...
O Allah!
I seek refuge in You from hunger; surely, it is the worst companion. And I seek refuge in You from treachery; surely, it is a bad inner trait.
