I strongly recommend that it be sent to all the major news outlets as either a news item or an editorial. The correlation between the current internment of Muslims with that of the Japanese 50 years ago will only be understood by mainstream America when the mainstream Media reports it.

Comment:People I know who have some genuine familiarity with the Muslim world are against the so-called "War on Terrorism," the Iraq invasion, President Bush, etc. The most notable example is a man who was a lifelong Republican, but who had worked in Saudi Arabia for several years as a technician. He found the actions of the Bush administration since Sept. 11 to be absolutely shameful.
The problem is that most Americans are very insulated and ignorant. They don't even want to consider the possibility that people could be arrested unjustly.
If the US had given appropriate aid to Afghanistan after the Soviets stopped their occupation, a lot of the current trouble might have been avoided. But the fact that this did not happen shows how ignorant even the politically powerful are, who would be expected to know better.
How can this ignorance be overcome? That is the big question. Articles like this one can help, since they are accurate and well-written.
And I think Christians need to focus on what Jesus taught, and not what they are indoctrinated to believe about him, making him into a cartoon Superman action figure rather than the great prophet of conscience, healing, and sacrifice. If Christians really knew Jesus, they would understand and respect Mohammed.

Comment:It is hard to believe that people can be so blind, that they can see all these things happening around them and not add it all up! Friends tell me "oh don't worry, they won't come after you, those new laws are only for terrorists" and I think, how can they be so stupid?!

Comment:It is up to us as muslims to take up the mantle of making the US public aware of our plight. Martin Luther King knew that he had to face a hostile publi, govt.and media but still went ahead with his program of protest and i am afraid the muslims of america will have to shake themselves out of their middle-class bourgeois meekness ( in stark contrast to the more working class tougher UK muslim pop.) and march, protest, sit-in, scream, shout, whatever it takes and do this with the help of such esteemed organizations such as Amnesty International or even the NAACP.
Wake up muslims - march, protest do what MLK did. Dont let the govt. trample over your constitutional and human rights.
