Comment:I completly agree with your reccomendations. I am an active voulunteer at a shia mosque which many sunni brothers and sisters attened. I try and make everyone welcome and encourage others to do the same. Unity starts locally in our hearts!

There is such an unbelievable amount of ignorance and misinformation about this issue in the Ummah and for various reasons such a dialogue has been suppressed by those afraid of opening their minds and those striving to divide and conquer the ummah. I suggest that this issue become a prominent focus for the ummah and Sound Vision can take some leading steps by placing on your site books that deal with unity and educate us regarding the different, yet very similar schools of thought(including the Ahlul-Bayt/Shia- Jafari Madhab). There have been various unity conferences over the years. SoundVision can take the initiative and distribute the video/audio/text excerpts from these conferences to eradicate the ignorance and misinformation that has plaqued the Shia-Sunni brotherhood, enshaa'allah. As for Sunni-Shia dialogue, this is the first I've come across. With education, tolerance and respect, we can make this happen. Humera

Comment:asalam alaykum, i feel that this article if read in the right quarters and right contest will relax all nerves as the hatred of one sect ,even if they have transgressed the bounds of Allah is not enough justification for the internecine war between 2 muslims as i will want that our fellow muslims ,be they shite or suunis should cool temper and allow the will of Allah be done . however ,this is not to say that we should allow cleavage wihtin the ummah . it is trite according to the prophet (saw) that towards the end of time the muslims will be divided among themselves and will not face the path which had been bequeathed to them by Allah . in conclusion the prophet said that whoever follows the quran and hadith shall not perish but have a fruitful mundane transit and a blissful hereafter .ma salam
