Comment:You all may be outraged about this article, but how many of you will acually stand up and try to make a difference. Our society has become lazy with advances in technology. Text messages instead of speaking to someone, dvr's so when you miss your show, it will be there when you get home so you can sit on your butt and watch tv and ignore your children. I had sex at age 13, was pregnant by 19, smoked since I was 14, smoked weed at 14 and drank often. Half the time I think alot of it was so my parents would notice me. Everyone is so busy. Sit down with your kids and be straight with them. No lies, no bullshit stories. Sex education is definatly a good idea, kids are going to experiment, but we can atleast hope they will be as responsible as possible. I love my two beautiful children. But I am a 25 year old single mom, struggling to pay the rent and am a full time collage student. Lifes hard, and I sometimes wish I had someone to explain just how hard it could be, so I would have atleast waited a while longer. Getting some religeon in our childrens lives wouldn't be a bad idea. Everyone needs a little faith, no matter what their religeon.

Comment:To Robby Ray, you think that saving yourself for marriage and that you know right from wrong. But this is America, there are many different religions in this country, and just because christianity is dying out doesnt make these statistics more or less right. The thing about it is, is there are people who feel differently and that makes them have sex younger. On your whole rape idea, there are sick people in the world. Sex and the bible dont have anything to do with one another. I knew a girl that her whole family went to church every sunday, helped out with the church as frequently as they could, prayed before every meal. I mean these people were VERY religious, however she still got pregnant her senior year in high school. Just because your christian doesnt mean anything. Your saving yourself and thats good, it means you wont be a dad at a young age and you wont catch any STD's but that dont mean the rest of the world feels the same way. Sex education and practicing safe sex is the best way to go, that would lower these statistics. Because the more you tell a child not to have sex the more likely theyll want to go out and do it. However if you tell them to use condoms, theyll be more receptive to it. I didnt mean to affend you in any way, just expressing my opinion.

Comment:Teenagers these days don't understand what they can get themselves into, and yeah it's a matter of whether they want to do it or not, but also the people that make a great influence on them. Adults are careless too, but people don't look down on them when they party, their children will learn from that thinking that it's ok to do because thats what adults do to "have fun". teenagers live life on the edge, they don't care what people will think, and it's NOT because christianity is dying. There are so many teens that I know that are very religious, that go to church school who are stupid enough to put themselves at risk.

Comment:People... You ask the question: "Where have all our morals gone?" Our morals have gone down the toilet because christianity is dying. Christians have not stood their ground, and people are abandoning their faith. The bible clearly states this will happen in the last days. Years ago the moral standing of society was much higher. Why? Because christianity was strong. Christanity laid the foundation for a good, moral system. The bible cleary states what is to be considered right, and what is to be considered wrong. This cannot be denied. Many of you think the bible is just a bunch a false mish-mesh and that it is just made up. I highly do not think this is case. The reason being is that I just don't think anybody in their right mind would find it funny to sit around and make up a massive book of so called stories. I mean, what is the likelyhood that one of my stories will be spread by word of mouth so much to the point to where it reaches to the other side of the world? This is very unlikely, but it happened in the case of the bible, all because it was true. Another thing is that people were willing to die for the bible. For you skeptics out there, there are records outside of the bible of people being killed for standing for their faith. I mean, don't you find it rather rediculous for someone to die for something that they didn't believe in, and that wasn't true? I do. Another thing to consider is that at the time the bible was written, the majority of the educated resided with the church, and I can assure you, these educated men would not have wasted there time, ink, and parchment writing about "stuff" that wasn't true. Many of you do not agree with me, but just stop and think about it for a second. Where do our morals come from? Where does our sense of right and wrong come? Some of you may say that it comes from within, and that we just naturally know what is considered right and wrong. Okay well then consider the rapist. In his eye he considered rape acceptable because he desired a female, and yet it is not acceptable. The same thing goes for lying. Many people justify that lying is okay so they won't get caught. Even thought some people fee that lying is okay, it is still wrong. Why? My answer would be because there is a GOD that exists, who knew from the get-go that we would be unable to distinguish for ourselves what is right and wrong. That is my answer, and I would like to know yours. Explain to me why it's wrong to lie. Give me your reason. For those of you who think there is nothing wrong with mindlessly having sex let me tell you something. You may think there's nothing wrong with it, but there is. First off, by you choosing to give yourself away to other people, you're spoiling something that was supposed to be very wonderful. There's a reason why sex is supposed to be saved until marriage. Do you know why? The whole purpose of sex is for us to be able to give ourselves whole heartedly, toward another person. That is it. By having sex before marriage, you're spoiling something that was meant to be absolutely beautiful. I don't know about you, but I intend on being married someday, and I don't want a guilty conscience because I had sex with others when I was younger. I want to give myself, wholeheartedly, to my wife, and love her with every ounce of my being. I want to treasure her, and be fully committed to her. That is why I'm saving myself for marriage. I'm saving myself for marriage because I want to experience sex the right way, the way that it was intended to be all along. I'm curious to see what you all have to say.

Comment:Um, this article greatly disturbed me. The fact that teenagers, children really according to this countries standards would partake in such inappropriate behavior in sexual activity, drugs, and substance abuse. Don't they no the risks. How about these teens stop fucking each other and realize how fucked up they really are.

Comment:Honestly, I am 18 years old,I have only had sex with one man, and we started having sex when I was 15 and he was 18, I never listened to the things about abstinence. Adults need to realize teenagers especially will do what they want. So why not just teach them a safe way? It would be much more effective... Kids these days are quite wild and do as they please so lets just bring them up to know the proper way to safely have sex!

Comment:Good article. But why the heck are people saying it's okay to drink and have sex when kids are young? Sure it's their life, but come on, where have all our moral values gone? What happened to intelligence and honor? I guess those left when the 2000's came around. It's disappointing, I must say...
