Comment:I am not a teen...that was many years ago, but what I do remember was that I was not in a bad situation, but chose to be in bad situations...that is not to say that every teen out there will be...how dare anyone to ASSUME that ALL teens are the same and that they all do the same thing. I did drugs, smoked cigs and drank...but did not come from a poor family, nor did I come from a rich family...it didn't have a TV in my room and I didn't have a cell phone, but I gave my kids one. Does that make me a bad parent?? I don't think so..truth is my kids are quite normal, they don't have sex, do drugs, party all night long and they get good grades, but it is only because I listened to them, heard what their fears are and took some part in their lives without crowding them. I hope that someday all parents will become more involved in their kids lives without pressuring them to become something they may not want to be or choose to be.

Comment:Teens are people too, lol.
I am fifteen and, although all three have been offered to me, I have never had drugs, smoked, or taken alchohol. It's jut not appealing to me, although it may be to other people.

Comment:I'm a teen. 14, in fact. I come from an abusive home, don't leer at me, I have the scars to prove it. Not all teens are being rebellious. Some of us are actually in need of help that we don't get because we're seen as just another statistic. I have YET to recieve any police help, or any form of help from anybody. And it truly sickens me that people can say things like "we choose to be this way".

Comment:our generation is this way b//c the choose to be this way not b//c of our parents. ppl make their own choices and its not our fault that half of the ppl my age (20 or younger) cant take car of themselves. thats why they have children so young and cant not finish high school.

Comment:I'm 20 years old. What's a shame is the generation before us puts us down for being " irresponsible and wreckless". Where were you when we needed guidance? Our generation is this way because the generation before us has failed to lead us and show us who we are supposed to be. Thankfully I found my way into an internship under someone who was able to show me how to be an adult. I'd just like to point out that just because you adults think we're wreckless and are no good because we're irresponsible, we are in this place for a reason.

Comment:Teens honestly don't really care what happens to them a lot of the time. They WILL drink. They WILL smoke. They WILL do whatever they want, even if it's against parent's rules. Teens pretty much LIVE to break rules. If a teen doesn't, they're considered weird, or a "goodie-goodie." Teens are different than they were twenty years ago-even TEN years ago. Teens are more irresponsible, and usually just DON'T CARE. If they have a lot of pressure at home, they usually get worse.
