Comment:I'm a housewife who doesnt work but i have some savings in bank which i keep for me and my children in case of emergency. Its just a small amount which most of it came as gifts during the passed years. should i pay zakaat on that? Thanx

Comment:If I owe money other than my mortgage - ie: line of credit, all extra $$ at the end of the month goes into paying that as there is no set repayment amount - is the total outstanding debt subtracted from what is zakatable before zakat is calculated?
