Comment:I sent my kids to islamic schools for years. While there were 'some' benefits of learning quran and some islamic values I found that on the whole it was not a good experience and myself and many other parents withdrew our children and sent them to main stream schools and alhamdolillah they are doing much better both academically and islamically. Most of these 'Islamic' schools are co-ed and money engines and concentrate in rote memorization of facts and more facts ... there are no gifted education resources and Arabic language ends in grade 5. Swearing and baad behaviour was rampant in 3 of the 'islamic' schools that my kids attended and the teenage kids do exactly the same things as regular non muslim public school kids as they have the access. My biggest regret is wasting my money for so many years in this system of narrow focus and should have saved it for other educational projects ...... sorry but Islamic schools are not what they make themselves out to be ... the list of greviences is endless including haram sex incidents in one of the most presitigious schools ...
