A Sample Letter to the Teacher of
your child for religious accomodation
Dear Mr. Lucas :
I am the father of Samira Khan, a student in your grade four class.
As a Muslim, she is one of the millions of children in America (Muslim,
Christian, Jewish, etc.) whose religious needs must be accommodated
in public school.
Your role as Samira's teacher is crucial in ensuring she develops academically
and in a well-adjusted manner. This means that her ability to function
as a young Muslim is not compromised while learning and growing academically.
This is why I would like to meet with you to discuss what former President
Bill Clinton has instructed schools and teachers to do about the religious
needs of all students in America, and in particular, Samira's needs
as a Muslim student in your class. In the long run, this will be of
benefit to all students in your class and at Belleview elementary school
who require religious accommodation.
I would also like to seek your advice about the issue of religious accommodation
for Samira and her classmates.
If you can kindly contact me so that we may set up a meeting this week
or next week, it would be greatly appreciated. You may call me at (123)
456-7890 in the daytime or (123) 012-3456 in the evenings.
I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time and attention.
Sincerely,Ahmed Khan

Comment: We should implement (within acceptable boundry) the Islamic excersice in public school. We need to work together to established that Ramadhan month be placed in School Calendar, accordingly like anyother holiday e.g. Christmas, Hanukah, etc.
May Allah, will guide us to make this implementation a reality. Amin.

| Something to Ask... | O Allah! I ask You by every name that You have, that You have called Yourself by, that You have taught any of Your Creation, that You have revealed in Your Book, or that You may have kept secret with Yourself. Make the Quran the spring of my heart, the light of my breast, the dispeller of my sorrows, the eraser of my anxieties and worries. |
