Assalamu Alaikum:
Bangladesh, Egypt, and Indonesia are just some of the Muslim
countries recently added to the US Immigration and Naturalization
Service's list. Male visitors to America from these countries are
now, like their Pakistani, Saudi, Syrian, etc. brothers required to
be fingerprinted and registered. Twenty-four out of the 25 countries
selected for special registration are Muslim. So much for good
public relations for the US. Why not just announce that all Muslims
are required to register? Or, if that's not the idea, then the US
should simply ask that all visitors register so it can avoid any
further negative PR for itself in the world.
